MK-System
Function principle
The modular designed MK-system is integrated in the exhaust piping of the vehicle, most of the times in place of the original muffler. The filter medium is made of Silicium Carbid (SiC), a high-tech ceramic. The filter is able to load the harmful diesel particles between 8 and 10 working hours. Then the maximum allowed backpressure is reached and the filter needs to be regenerated. For this purpose the diesel burner is ignited while the engine is off. Depending on the filter size, the regeneration is completely over from 5 to 35 minutes. About 100 ml to 300 ml diesel fuel are necessary for each regeneration. The entire process is supervised by the HUSS Control electronic device.
