Technician – Emissions Service Team (Location: Palm Springs, Sacramento, New York City)

Company Introduction

HUSS LLC is a leading specialist in the development and manufacturer of exhaust after-treatment devices (Diesel Particulate Filter) for off-road and on-road heavy duty equipment, e.g. construction vehicles, school buses, transit buses, waste haulers, power generators, pumps, agriculture vehicles and many others. This filter technology is unique, highly sophisticated and very efficient.

Primary Objective of Position

• Technicians are responsible for performing Emissions Control Device (Diesel Particulate Filter)

• Installation and service operations as assigned in accordance with in-house standards.

Position Responsibilities

• Reads and understands work orders. Performs assigned work to ensure conformance to job/contract specifications, or correct/report conditions or malfunctions that would preclude a completed job.
• Verifies that subject vehicle is available and configured as written in job work order.
• Trouble Call:Inspects and records details of subject vehicles/engines and installed ECD. Downloads backpressure data or otherwise diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs system. Writes job orders & parts requisitions and assists in developing formal quotes.
• Assessment:Inspects and records details of subject vehicles/engines and installed exhaust systems and assesses the scope of work required for ECD installation or service. Writes job orders & parts requisitions and helps develop formal quotes for customers.
• Data Log:Installs (and removes) temperature data logging devices onto existing exhaust system.Programs data logger to delayed start time using a PC.Downloads and analyses temperature data using a PC to determine validity of test.
• Installation:Inspects, examines and adjusts or repairs existing exhaust system components that will be reused. Removes/disassembles existing exhaust system components. Installs new ECD per in-house standards.
• Local and statewide travel required up to 60% of the time.

Required Qualifications

• Must possess solid mechanical skills/ability.
• Technical experience and working knowledge in various fields including: Automotive mechanics, vehicle maintenance, plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, pneumatics or machinery/mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Requires advanced knowledge in the use of mechanics tools; good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication – bending, cutting, drilling and welding (TIG); ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Must have a great attitude, high energy and high degree of integrity with the ability to exercise good judgment.
• Good communications skills are a must, together with great customer service skills.
• Must have good decision making and trouble shooting abilities. Be able to work as part of a team.
