Passive regeneration

Passive regeneration principles try to reduce the soot ignition temperature. This target can be reached, for instance, by dosing an additive (FBC) to the diesel fuel. The additive acts like a catalyst and forces the particles into regeneration at temperatures above 518°F. In case the particular application provides the minimum exhaust gas temperature, the system works during driving mode without the driver interaction.
